Martin Kelly confirms he is set for lengthy lay-off

Liverpool’s Martin Kelly has today tweeted and suggested that he will be out for the rest of the season or at least the rest of the year as his tweet was not entirely clear.

The defender, who was substituted during Liverpool’s Premier League match with Manchester United said

Hoping for the best but fearing the worst ;( got my scan at 8 then will let you guys know

He then followed this tweet by saying

What can I say its not the worst injury I’ve had, and for sure ill be fighting for my place next year when I’m back fitter and stronger.

Coming off in the last five minutes of the match after suffering a knee injury, Kelly gave no further information regarding his injury nor did he provide the results of his scan but it seems as if the player will take no further part in Liverpool’s season for the foreseeable future in what comes as another blow to Brendan Rodgers’ side after Daniel Agger was reported to be suffering from a possible MCL injury which could also see his season ended.
