Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that Spurs are awaiting the results of a scan on midfielder Mousa Dembele’s hip, saying
Top players are missed. He had a scan, but we haven’t seen the results yet. He suffers discomfort and pain on his hip which is not something that shows on the scan so it’s difficult to assess. He had a chance to play [against Chelsea] and had a late fitness test, but the pain didn’t go away. It’s something that comes back to him.
Dembele suffered a hip problem while at Fulham which caused him to miss games during January for the side. Substituted during Belgium’s game against Scotland during the World Cup qualifiers after falling awkwardly, the White Hart Lane midfielder has yet to recover and it is unclear at this point how long he will be out for.
