Koscielny set for three weeks out

Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny is facing a three week spell on the sidelines after the defender had to be substituted early in to Arsenal’s 1-1 at Goodison Park in the Barclay’s Premier League last night. Koscielny was replaced after only four minutes with Kieran Gibbs coming on in his place after the defender injured himself when making a clearance.

After the match manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Koscielny picked up a groin strain and said

He has a groin strain. That’s usually three weeks.

Wenger also confirmed that winger Theo Walcott picked up a knock on his ankle which meant that he was not able to play at 100% during the second half, however no further information regarding the injury is available at the present time.

Forward Lukas Podolski missed out on the game as he was said to be suffering from a chest infection.
