Anderson facing longer lay-off than originally expected

Manchester United’s midfielder Anderson is facing between six and eight weeks on the sideline after he suffered a hamstring tear in Manchester United’s 4-3 win away at Reading.

Sir Alex Ferguson had initially predicted that Anderson would be out for three to four weeks, telling MUTV after the game against Reading last weekend

It is a hamstring, it will be three or four weeks. It is not serious but it is a hamstring.

However it is being reported by The Times today that the injury is more serious than first feared and could keep Anderson out for up to eight weeks after a tear in the player’s hamstring was discovered upon closer inspection.
