Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas is likely to miss the rest of 2012 as the midfielder was replaced during their game against Real Betis last night after reportedly tearing a muscle in his thigh.
Fabregas, who was dogged with hamstring problems during his time at Arsenal, has enjoyed a relatively injury-free time at the Spanish club, however the 25 year old had to be substituted in the tenth minute on Sunday night.
Speaking about the injury, Barcelona said
He’ll be sidelined for three to four weeks. Therefore, he’ll miss the teams’ last three games in 2012 – the two Liga matches against Atletico Madrid and Valladolid and the away leg of the Copa del Rey against Cordoba. He could also miss the first games of 2013, against Espanyol and the return leg of the Cup at the Camp Nou.
