As Reading get ready to host Arsenal in the Barclay’s Premier League on Monday night, manager Brian McDermott gave an update regarding the injury status of his squad at a press conference this morning.
McDermott was unable to say whether a few of his injured players would be fit enough to face the Gunners however he was hopeful that Pavel Pogrebnyak, Jason Roberts and Jimmy Kebe would all be fit.
“It’s difficult to say as we’ve got a few days before the game. But Jimmy Kebe will hopefully train.
“Robbo – we don’t know yet, we’ll have to wait and see. He pulled out the day before the Sunderland game. He travelled up with us but obviously wasn’t available.
“Pavel – we don’t know but we’ll give them all every opportunity. Hopefully we can get a couple back.”
McDermott added that Jem Karacan returned to training on Thursday but is unlikely to be selected to face Arsenal.
Sean Morrison [ankle] and Alex McCarthy [shoulder] are both ruled out.
Mc Dermott added
“Jem Karacan will train, but the Arsenal game is probably a bit too early for him. Sean Morrison and Alex McCarthy are both out.”
