Arsenal’s Jernade Meade has been talking about the injury which he picked up during a training drill at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground three weeks ago.
During a heading and crossing drill, Meade damaged his ankle and the highly-rated youngster told Luton on Sunday:
“My right foot just went. I heard a pop and thought I had broken it. I went for an X-ray and it wasn’t broken, which was good. But the MRI showed I had snapped a ligament and sometimes a break can be better than ligament damage as they take ages to heal.
“I recovered well the first few days but now it’s at a standstill. I used to be quite injury prone, especially in my first year. This is my first one big one in a while.
“I reckon I’ll be back for three for four weeks. It’s come at the wrong time as I was hoping to go out on loan or train with the first team.”
Meade made his first team debut for Arsenal in the Champions League against Olympiakos and was part of the side which defeated Reading 7-5 in the Capital One Cup.
