It is now believed that Tottenham’s midfielder Sandro will be out for up to four months after picking up a knee injury against QPR last week.
Sandro twisted his knee and was able to walk off the pitch prompting Andre Villa Boas to comment after the match that he did not believe the injury to be serious. However scans which followed showed significant damage.
The club confirmed on its official website that the player had undergone surgery in order to correct the problem but no timeframe was given for the length of time the midfielder was expected to be out of action.
An insider from the club has been reported as saying
It’s a big blow because Sandro is a class player. The problem is pretty bad.
The operation took place in Barcelona and Sandro will now miss up to four months of action with the club fearing that he is unlikely to return before the end of the season.
