Swansea’s Chico Flores has confirmed that while he has not broken any bones in his ankle he has suffered ligament damage to two out of the three ligaments in his right ankle.
Flores was forced to leave the pitch at the weekend on a stretcher and while initial reports were more positive than first expected, it is still not clear how long he will be out for and if he will be able to take part in Swansea’s Capital One Cup Final appearance against Bradford at Wembley later this month however it is not likely.
Swansea’s head physio Kate Rees said
He is very unlikely to make the Cup Final.
It’s difficult at the moment to assess how long he will be out because we need the swelling to go down first.
