Andy Carroll has been ruled out of action for up to four months after it was discovered that the frontman’s heel injury was worse than first feared.
Andy Carroll, expected to join West Ham on a permanent deal after spending the season there on loan from Liverpool, picked up a heel injury which means he will miss England’s upcoming friendlies in the summer against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil as well as pre-season with his club and the season start.
Carroll fell awkwardly in the final game of the season which resulted in a sharp pain in his heel. The injury was originally expected to keep him sidelined for up to six weeks but after seeing a specialist he has now been ruled out for significantly longer.
He will not required surgery to correct the problem with rest being the best option in order to aid healing.by
