Gareth Bale’s injury record

As rumours surrounding Tottenham’s Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid gather pace with the player’s agent claiming that the player would be interested in a move there this summer, just what could the Spanish giants expect when it comes to the player and his injury history?

A pacey player, Bale has been subjected to a number of rough, and at times, downright nasty, tackles from opposition players. While the style of play in La Liga isn’t quite as rough as it is in the Premier League, the opposition’s inability to cope with the Welshman’s talents would see him still on the receiving end of a number of hefty challenges.

As you can see from his record, ankle injuries, the hallmark of a late challenge, feature heavily in Bale’s history.

Of course, past injuries are no indication of future ones, but a player like Bale can expect to suffer from more impact injuries than most during the remainder of his career.

Injury at work is something Bale is going to have to learn to live with unfortunately.
