Cesc Fabregas is a doubt for Spain’s Confederation Cup semi-final against Italy after the midfielder suffered an injury to his left thigh which caused him to be replaced after 54 minutes against Nigeria. He went straight to the dressing room with the physiotherapist.
Fabregas is set to undergo tests on his thigh to determine the extent of the injury. The problem is said to be muscular.
Spain manager Vicente Del Bosque said after the game
“He must have had some discomfort and caution has been removed. Now doctors have their say. Appears that is not important but in anticipation that could go higher leave the pitch.”
Spain qualified as group winners after defeating Nigeria and will play Italy in the semi final on Thursday.by
