Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere is expected to be fit enough to return in time for Arsenal’s pres-season after undergoing ankle surgery.
Wilshere needed the operation to deal with a troublesome screw which was inserted during his lengthy lay-off which kept him out of action for 14 months. The screws were replaced after Wilshere was reduced to using painkillers to get through games during the season.
The surgery was a success and recovery is going as planned with the midfielder now penciled in for a July 4th return when Arsenal return for pre-season. He will travel on the Asia tour and is expected to be fit for the season start.
It is hoped that this surgery will put an end to the ankle problems which have plagued Wilshere for two seasons.by
