According to the official Liverpool website striker Daniel Sturridge is on target to be fit for the start of the new Premier League campaign on 17th August.
Sturridge picked up an ankle injury while away on international duty with England, but the frontman is recovering well and Liverpool’s head of performance, Glen Driscoll said
Daniel Sturridge is the only player in the squad not training at the moment, but he’s progressing really well and he’s still on target to make the start of the season.
This comes as good news for Liverpool fans who feared the worst when Sturridge picked up his injury.
Initial reports claimed that the player would miss the start of the season and it was even suggested he could be out until as late as October with ankle ligament damage.by
