Arsenal get some good news on the injury front

After what has been a torrid start to the Premier League, Arsenal received a much-needed boost after it was revealed that Tomas Rosicky, Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs would all be fit enough to travel to Turkey for their Champions League play off first leg against Fenerbahce.

Bacary Sagna, who suffered a neck injury after an horrific fall, has surprised everyone by recovering quickly and while he is not a confirmed member of the squad, he is sufficiently fit to take a fitness test this morning before the team fly out from Luton Airport.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who left the Emirates on crutches is still facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines however there was good news when a scan revealed that he had not suffered a rupture in his knee. While the club have not yet confirmed how long he will be out, press guesstimates are saying Christmas.

Arsenal are still without Nacho Monreal, Thomas Vermaelen, Abou Diaby and Mikel Arteta. Youngster Ryo Miyaichi is expected to return to training this week after recovering from a rib injury which he picked up in Japan during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia.
