Fulham’s Aaron Hughes is a doubt for the Craven Cottage side after he was withdrawn from the Northern Ireland squad with a thigh problem and is struggling to be fit for the return of the Premier League at the weekend.
Manchester City received a boost n the injury front as defender Micah Richards is set to return to first team action this weekend after recovering from a hamstring problem. Although Richards returned to training with Manchester City they are likely to take a cautious approach to reintegrating him in to the side but he will be available for selection as Pellegrin’s side face Stoke this weekend. A decision is likely to be taken on Friday.
Manchester United are awaiting news on the fitness of Phil Jones who is still suffering with an ankle injury making him a doubt for their match against Crystal Palace at the weekend. Jones picked up the injury in Manchester United’s game against Liverpool and had to be substituted after only 37 minutes.
Andy Carroll has suffered an injury set-back and could be ruled out until the new year after picking up a foot injury in training.
Returning from a similar problem, Carroll has yet to feature for the Hammers after signing on a permanent basis in the summer from Liverpool.
West Ham issued a statement saying
“West Ham United can confirm Andy Carroll suffered an injury to his right foot during his return to full training today.
“Although it is in the same part of his foot as his previous injury, it is a new injury and therefore there will be no prognosis until he has seen a specialist.
