Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media ahead of their Premier League fixture at Swansea at the weekend and has given updates on some of the injured players in Arsenal’s treatment room.
Theo Walcott’s operation on his abdomen went as well as could be expected and Wenger said that he hoped the winger would be back ‘optimistically’ within three weeks but realistically within five.
Santi Cazorla will return from his ankle injury after the international break according to the Arsenal manager. The midfielder himself had hoped he would return in time of Napoli or West Brom before the international break.
Aaron Ramsey has a slight thigh problem but should be ok to play against Swansea.
Mathieu Flamini has a shoulder problem but should also be fit to play on Saturday.
Arsenal picked up no new injury concerns after their mid-week exertions against West Rom. Mikel Arteta, who was substituted, was merely suffering from cramp.
Arsenal are also without Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Yaya Sanogo and Abou Diaby. Tomas Rosicky is expected to return to training on Monday and could feature for the club against Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.by
