Injury updates Arsenal, Chelsea Southampton

Arsenal

Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has picked up a calf injury while on international duty with France. It is not clear at this point how serious the injury is however Didier Deschamps has called Kurt Zouma up in to the squad as a precaution.

Chelsea’s Czech keeper Petr Cech has been speaking about Tomas Rosicky who withdrew from the international squad claiming that Rosicky would not risk injury with the national team while he is in the final year of his Arsenal contract. It is rumoured that Arsenal are preparing to offer him a new deal.

Rosicky picked up a thigh injury when he was last on international duty.

Bacary Sagna has posted a video of himself working out in the gym in a bid to get fit after picking up a hamstring injury against Napoli in the Champions League. The defender was moving freely and looks to be making good progress .

Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien missed training with Ghana yesterday.

Kevin de Bruyne has dismissed reports which surfaced claiming he had been injured while on international duty with Belgium saying that he is fully fit.

Southampton

Saints defender Luke Shaw has been ruled out of England’s under-21 squad for theis game against San Marino due to illness.
