Kompany to undergo scan

Manchester City’s captain Vincent Kompany will undergo a scan on the groin injury he picked up during Saturday’s match against Everton at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

It is expected that the scan will take place today [Monday] in a hospital in Manchester.

Kompany had to be withdrawn from the game after just 34 minutes and is said to be suffering from a slightly inflame muscle in the groin region however it is not in the same area as the previous groin problem he experienced which resulted in him missing three Premier League matches for City before he was able to return for their Champions League game against Viktoria Plzen.

Since that first injury Kompany has played four matches but this latest problem will be a concern with the Manchester City captain still said to be experiencing pain in the area 24 hours after picking up  the injury leading to initial reports that he has suffered a strain.
