Arsenal fans everywhere took a collective panic-attack when Mesut Ozil was substituted and went straight down the tunnel to the dressing room during Germany’s win over Sweden in the final World Cup qualifying game last the night with a knee injury.
The midfielder was caught by the studs of a Swedish player as he ran behind him and the reports coming out of Germany are that the Arsenal man has suffered bruising to his knee and is not looking at any time on the sidelines with the injury. He was then taken off as a precaution.
The news will come as a relief to Arsenal who have suffered a number of injuries over recent international breaks. Spaniard Santi Cazorla has only just returned to training after injuring his ankle ligaments during the last international break and it is hoped that he will be available for their game against Norwich at the weekend allowing Arsene Wenger the option of resting Mesut Ozil ahead of their Champions League group game against Borussia Dortmund next week.by
