Van Persie misses Dutch training with injury

Manchester United’s Robin van Persie was the only Dutch player to miss out on training with the Dutch national team as the forward spent time working on a number of individual exercises in a bid to ease an injury undisclosed injury problem.

The exact nature of the injury has not been specified but ahead of United’s trip to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland manager David Moyes had claimed that van Persie was a doubt with a toe injury and it is not clear if this is the problem which caused the striker to miss training.

Van Persie endured a torrid time while at Arsenal with a variety of injuries, many of which were picked up while on international duty. But over the last two seasons he has shaken off his injury-plagued label.

Suffering from a thigh injury, van Persie missed Manchester United’s defeat away to Manchester City, the first injury he had picked up since his Arsenal days which caused him to miss a match.
