Arsenal team news ahead of Cardiff game

Arsene Wenger has given the official Arsenal site an update on the status of his injured players ahead of their trip to Cardiff on Saturday in the Premier League.

The good news is that his side picked up no new injuries against Marseille when they played them in the Champions League and Arteta, who started on the bench in that game in order to be rested, will come back in to contention to start the game.

Kieran Gibbs missed the game against Marseille as he was ill but he has made a full recovery and will come back in to the squad at the weekend.

Arsene Wenger said that it is three weeks until Podolski will be seen in the team which is the same update he gave last week so Arsenal fans will be hoping he hasn’t got stuck in their infamous three-week injury loop. He did train with the first team prior to their game against Marseille so there should be no real concerns there.

Wenger also confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not be back before the New Year.
