West Ham’s Andy Carroll has suffered yet another set back after it was revealed that the forward has come down with a virus as he attempts to recover from a heel injury.
It had been hoped that Carroll would be fit to return to the West Ham lineup by Christmas however his recover regimen has been hit after he came down with what has been described as a ‘devastating stomach virus’ which has seen him unable to take part in his rehab programme for almost a week,
Carroll is now next expected to be able to return to competitive football until the new year meaning that manager Sam Allardyce is considering bringing in a striker in loan. Carroll will, of course, take some time after his return to get back up to full match fitness.
The England forward had been spending time in Belgium working on his rehabilitation.by
