Injury updates inc Newcastle, Stoke + others

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that his side have no injury worries ahead of their game at the weekend in the Premier League.

Pardew said

Everyone is fit at the moment and hopefully it stays like that.

This year we haven’t got that pressure [of injuries], on Tuesday I think we have the best days training we’ve ever had here.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that Robert Huth will probably need an operation on his knee.

Hughes said

It looks like Huthy is going to need an operation, so we are likely to be without him for a period of time unfortunately.

I have a few thoughts about what I am going to fo on Saturday and Stephen Ireland certainly comes in to the equation.

Swans manager Brian Laudrup has confirmed that the calf problem Angel Rangel picked up against Valencia in the Europa League on Thursday night is not thought to be serious, saying

Angel had a problem with his calf, hopefully it’s not bad. It’s a blow. When you have a lot of games theer is a possibility.

There is still no confirmation of the length of time that Wilfried Bony will be out after picking up a hamstring injury in the same match. Laudrup added

With the structure of his leg, there is a lot of muscle there and it could be quite serious one.

Bony is expected to have a scan today [Friday].

West Brom

West Brom manager Steve Clarke has confirmed that everyone bar Ben Foster has a chance of making their Premier League game at the weekend. The West Brom manager said

I’ve got lots of little doubts but the only one we will definitely rule out is Ben Foster. Everyone else has a chance.

West Ham

West Ham have no new injury concerns and are hopefully that striker Andy Carroll could return to training next week after recovering from a heel problem and a stomach virus.
