Injury updates – Tottenham pre Manchester United

After making a return to the Tottenham first team, Emmanuel Adebayor looks set to miss out on his side’s match against Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday after the forward picked up a groin injury. Adebayor came on as a half-time sub for Spurs against Manchester City at the weekend, his first appearance of the season however he was not able to take part in their Europa League game due to the injury.

Christian Eriksen is still ruled out with the ankle injury he picked up on international duty with Denmark and Harry Kane is also ruled out with a back problem. Eriksen is expected to be sidelined for at least another three weeks.

Jermain Defoe, Kyle Walker and Paulinho, who were all rested for their Europa League group game against Tromso on Thursday night, are set to come back in to the squad.

Vlad Chiriches is likely to continue wearing his protective mask to protect the broken nose he is currently nursing. Chiriches picked up the broken nose during the first half of Tottenham’s game against Newcastle.
