Villa expect injury crisis to ease + West Brom update

Aston Villa are currently the worst hit team in the Premier League when it comes to the number of players in their treatment room, but manager Paul Lambert hopes that it will ease ahead of their game on Monday night against West Brom.

Lambert told the press that he is hopeful that Andreas Weimann [hamstrong], Gabriel Agbonlahor [ankle] and Christian Benteke [knee] could return to the side for the derby.

This would still leave Villa with Guzan, Delph, Clark, Luna, Bennett, Gardner, Okore and N’Zogbia on their injured list although Lambert hopes that Luna [hamstring] and Delph [knee] might also recover in time to face West Brom.

West Brom, meanwhile, expect to have Nicholas Anelka back for the game after the Frenchman recovered from a groin problem and manager Steven Clarke has not dismissed the possibility that Scott Sinclair could play some part in the game as well.

Also on West Brom’s injured list are Brunt, Myhill, Jones, Gera, Foster and Thorne.
