Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has told reporters that he expects Vincent Kompany to return this week.
Pellegrini was speaking after his side’s three nil win over Swansea in the Premier League on Sunday and said
‘We’ll see tomorrow. It think maybe he will be fit on Wednesday’
Kompany has been out with a thigh injury since October and the injury took longer to heal than originally was forecast. On 12th November it was revealed that the Manchester City captain would be sidelined until December after first suffering a tear to his abductor and then a secondary problem at the front of his leg.
The Manchester City manager also revealed that he aims to overhaul Arsenal and be top of the Premier League by the New Year, adding
‘I can answer your question [about it] after this week has finished. I hope we can do it’
City are currently six points behind Arsenal and entertain the league leaders on 14th December in the day’s early kick-off.by
