Claims Arsenal are trying to cancel Kallstrom’s loan

The Sun are claiming Arsenal are trying to find a way to send the injured Kim Kallstrom back to Spartak Moscow.

Arsenal made just one signing during the January transfer window – the Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom.

It has now emerged that the defender was carrying a back injury when he signed, something the club are said to have been aware of when they sealed the deal. Now, however, it appears as if the injury could be worse than MRI scans showed and he is likely to be ruled out for some time after the results of a CAT scan were received.

The Sun [paywalled] are reporting that a club insider claims the club are trying to find a way to cancel the deal.

It remains to be seen how much truth there is to this rumour but what is certain is that Arsenal fans are far from impressed that the player signed to cover injured midfielders is, himself, injured.

No doubt Arsene Wenger will be quizzed on the situation after Arsenal’s game against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon so things might become clearer then.
