Phil Jones + Jonny Evans injury update

Phil Jones was taken off on a stretcher during Manchester United’s game against Stoke while Jonny Evans was also substituted.

The Manchester United man was then taken straight to hospital with a suspected head injury.

After the game, David Moyes confirmed that Jones had suffered a concussion but he was ‘alright.’

Moyes said

We lost two centre-halves today and we had to alter but I didn’t think it would change much of the game. I thought we kept going and kept doing the right things.

Phil Jones looks like a concussion, he’s been checked, had a head scan and everything’s ok. I think you see when he falls badly he’s on the verge of being out, he gets up and then he does go out of conciousness.

The medical team dealt with it very well.

Jonny Evans looks like he has a bit of a calf strain.

Manchester United lost the game 2-1, going down at the hands of Stoke for the first time in the Premier League.

Robin van Persie continued his scoring form after returning from his thigh injury, assisted by Juan Mata, but a Charlie Adam double, one either side of the United goal, sealed the points for the Potters.
