Arsene Wenger has stated that he won’t make a decision on his future until he sees how this season pans out.
The Frenchman, who both said he keeps his word and then hinted that he might change his mind, has yet to sign a new deal with Arsenal despite an offer on the table from the club.
Speaking to the press on Friday before they face Manchester City at the Emirates, Wenger said
“I have given my word and I always respect my word. My word is my word.
“So will I definitely stay? Yes …unless I decide otherwise. I’m not going anywhere, don’t worry about that, but I want to have a feeling coming out of the season that I have done the maximum for the club.
“I have told you many times we have had no time to sit down and do it.”
Arsenal have slipped down the league table since leading for most of it, however they still sit in fourth place and have an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to, a trophy which they are clear favourites for this season.
Results away from home against the other top four sides, where they have been beaten heavily, has heaped pressure on to a manager who has operated with the most injury-ravaged side in the league this season.
It is worth noting as well, that for all the goals they shipped away at Liverpool and Chelsea, neither Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, or Manchester United have managed to score a single goal at the Emirates this season in the league.by
