Everton look set to keep Barcelona’s Deulofeu for another season

According to reports emerging from Spain, there is an agreement in principle in place between Everton and Barcelona which will see Gerard Deulofeu remain at Goodison Park next season.

The 20 year-old has enjoyed a very good season with the Toffees, making 22 appearances in the league [26 in all competitions] with three league goals and four assists despite missing a chunk of the season with a hamstring injury.

Roberto Martinez will no doubt be delighted that the Spanish giants have agreed to allow one of their leading young talents remain on loan in England with his side.

Although there has not yet been a formal announcement from either side, it seems like this will come in the close-season once the transfer window has opened.

Everton travel to Southampton this weekend where they will be going to continue their great run of form and place more pressure on Arsenal in the chase for the final Champions League spot. Arsenal do not play until Monday night when they entertain Newcastle at the Emirates.
