John Terry could start for Chelsea on Wednesday as he returns to training

After initial fears that captain John Terry could miss the rest of the season with the injury he picked up in their Champions League semi-final first leg subsided, the injury was said to not be as bad as first feared.

In fact, the defender has returned to full training with the club and could even be available to play on Wednesday in the second leg.

It is believed that if Terry suffers no ill-effects from the return to training on Monday then he is likely to be considered for a starting role against Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge.

Suffering what was described as a foot and ankle injury after a collision with David Luiz, Jose mOurinho had originally thought that the player could be out for around a month, only returning should Chelsea make the showpiece final in Lisbon on May 24th.

He is currently rated at 50:50 to start the game.
