Manchester City’s Sunday is set to get even worse after manager Manuel Pellegrini told French TV that he doesn’t think that Yaya Toure will play again this season.
The midfielder was substituted in the first half of their game against Liverpool at Anfield after just 19 minutes with a groin injury.
Speaking to BeIN Sports, the City manager confirmed the news.

Although it is often hard to give an exact estimate on how long a player is likely to be out for so soon after the injury occurs, with so few games remaining and Toure in obvious pain, it’s not hard to think Pellegrini is speaking plainly rather than jumping any sort of gun.
City could consider themselves unlucky to leave Anfield without at least a share of the points. They were denied what looked like a stonewall penalty in the first half while Martin Skrtel clearly handled the ball in the box in the second. Added to that Luis Suarez who should have received a second yellow and it all added up to a day which City will be happy to move past.
Despite having two games in hand over Liverpool, City are now seven points behind meaning that the title is no longer in their own hands.by
