Napoli are considering move for Manchester United’s Shinji Kagawa should they need to replace Lorenzo Insigne who is being watched by Arsenal and Tottenham according to reports in Italy.
It is claimed that Napoli are preparing themselves for a bid of around €20m from one or both of the North London sides and see Kagawa not only as a good replacement for Insigne but an excellent move on the marketing side of things as well.
Kagawa’s agent recently spoke about how the player was ‘not unhappy’ at the prospect of staying at Manchester United despite not enjoying the most productive time since his arrival in 2012.
Thomas Kroth told reporters when asked about Napoli’s alleged interest
“Has Benitez made contact with Kagawa? These are just rumours.
“He is not unhappy at Manchester United, so there’s no reason to talk about him departing to another club.”
Despite this statement, rumours still continue to emerge on Italian websites however it is not clear if there is any truth to them or if it is just a case of agents planting stories as they tend to.
Insigne, 22, still has four years left on his Napoli contract while Kagawa has two remaining on his, a time when most agents are looking to renew deals for their clients.by
