Swansea striker going nowhere

With a number of clubs being linked with a move for Swansea’s Wilfried Bony, the striker’s agent has claimed the player is more than happy with life at the Swans.

Signed from Vitesse Arnhem for £12m last summer, Bony has enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League and it is perhaps not surprising that the player has been linked with clubs like Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund after finding the net 15 times in the league.

But speaking to the press Bony’s agent, Dalibor Lacina, confirmed that the player, who has three years left on his current Swansea contract, will return for them next season. Lacina said

“We are very happy with what he achieved in his first season at Swansea.

“He’s happy to stay there and it was a good decision to go there.

“He appreciates that Swansea are the club who gave him his chance in the Premier League.

“He will go to the World Cup in the summer and we think he can be even better next season. He has three years left on his contract and his situation is stable.”

With West Ham facing a title-chasing Manchester City on the final day of the season, Swansea will be hoping that a win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light can lift them in to a final position of 12th on the league table.
