VIDEOS Gerrard on Suarez and Liverpool’s title ‘literally’ slipping away

Steven Gerrard joined his Liverpool teammates at the first Players’ Award Dinner on Tuesday night.

The club captain, visible deflated, spoke about Luis Suarez who picked up more individual awards as well as the title slipping away after the 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace.

He did manage to crack a smile as he joked about it ‘literally‘ slipping away after his error against Chelsea.

Liverpool will be hoping that Aston Villa can do them a favour on Wednesday night as Manchester City entertain them at the Etihad in what is their game in hand.

Sitting one point clear on top of the table, a Villa win would put this rollercoaster title back in the hands of the Anfield side. A win for City, however, would leave City likely needing only a draw from their final league game due to their superior goal difference.
