Manchester United and Chelsea look set to be disappointed in midfielder hunt

According to press reports over the past few months one of the many players that Manchester United have their eyes set on is Atletico Madrid’s midfielder Koke.

As with all rumours at this time of the year it’s hard to know how much truth there is to the reports, especially given that the story has yo-yo’d for a number of months with United said to be close, Atletico saying he’s not for sale, rinse and repeat.

The player, currently on international duty with Spain in Brazil, has himself now spoken about the situation and it seems like he’s set on staying with the league champions.

Koke said

Right now I have a contract, I’m very happy and there’s nothing more to say.

Chelsea are also said to be interested the midfielder who made 57 appearances for Atletico last season however the majority of the links in the press have centred around Manchester United’s interest.
