Liverpool are close to landing two more new players in this transfer window with a deal said to be agreed for striker Divock Origi and talks at an advanced stage with Benfica for winger Lazar Markovic.
Liverpool are understood to have agreed a £10m for for Origi who will discuss terms with the Anfield side this week while they are hopeful of being able to land 20-year-old Markovic for £25m.
Origi was part of the Belgium side which reached the World Cup quarter finals while Markovic was part of Benfica’s title winning side after joining the club from Partizan Belgrade in 2013. It is believed that Liverpool will loan Origi back to Lille after completing the deal.
With Barcelona closing in on a £75m deal for Luis Suarez, Liverpool are preparing for life without the Uruguayan and also remain hopeful of landing Alexis Sanchez, however the Chilean is said to prefer a move to Arsenal.
In addition, Liverpool are still being linked with a move for Southampton’s Dejan Lovren although the Saints are reluctant to allow any more players to leave having already sold Ricky Lambert and Adam Lallana to Liverpool and Luke Shaw to Manchester United.
With the arrival of Emre Can from Bayer Leverkusen for £10m, Liverpool have spent £39m so far this summer.by
