Arsenal pre-Stoke injury update

Arsene Wenger has spoken to the press and given an update on his squad ahead of the game against Stoke at the Emirates on Sunday.

Mesut Ozil has returned to training from the knee injury which has kept him sidelined for three months and will be included in the squad. Wenger did not confirm if the German would start the game.

Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey have also returned to first team training and could also be included.

Olivier Giroud, refreshed from his winter break, will return from suspension.

Danny Welbeck is not available as he continues to struggle with a thigh injury.

Arsenal are still without Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby, Mikel Arteta, Serge Gnabry and Yaya Sanogo.

Wenger said

“The team news is that Ramsey (hamstring) is back in training, Ozil (knee) is back in training and Flamini (groin) is back in training.

“We’ve got three players back. Welbeck (thigh) is still not available for Sunday because he is a bit short. Maybe next week he will be available.

“Giroud is back from suspension. So we have a bigger squad than last week.”
