Klopp slams reports, insists Liverpool star is happy. Now they don't need Arsenal's Walcott

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has slammed reports that Jordon Ibe is unsettled and looking to leave the club.

After seeing Raheem Sterling shine at Anfield before moving on, fans may have become a little sensitive and the reaction to Ibe removing all Liverpool related messages from his social media pages was recently met with derision.

The sudden emergence of Sheyi Ojo cast doubt over Ibe’s standing at the club but Klopp has said there’s no doubt in his mind the winger is happy at the club and their relationship is fine.

“I heard from somewhere that Jordon has some problems with me or something?” said the German.

“Absolutely not.

“Only a few young players can come up, and sometimes they are in the squad, sometimes not.”

Ibe’s future remains up in the air and Liverpool have been linked with a number of players, including Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, should they need reinforcements out wide. Klopp, though, has no intention of letting Ibe go after he came back into the side to impress against Bournemouth on Saturday.

“He’s still a brilliant, big, big talent which is very good for English football. He did well today with the pass for the first goal, and the cross for the second. I was very happy.”

As ever, there’s far less to the ‘controversial’ Ibe story than certain sections of the media make out and certain fans like to believe.
