As the summer approaches, eyes will turn to Stamford Bridge and see what kind of team incoming manager Antonio Conte hopes to build.
The current Italy head coach will arrive in west London after Euro 2016. With a big new appointment, it’s fair to expect Chelsea to have a very busy transfer window.
According to Get French Football News, one of the major signings could be Argentina midfielder Javier Pastore, who is currently a little aggrieved by his role with the French champions.
Pastore didn’t start a single Champions League game all season and has only been in Laurent Blanc’s starting lineup in Ligue 1 on seven occasions. Injuries have harmed the midfielder’s chances of playing more often but he will be particularly frustrated by recent weeks, when Adrien Rabiot has been chosen to play in the absence of Marco Verratti.
Thanks to all that, he allegedly is in contact with Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and Bayern Munich as he considers his PSG future for the first time since arriving at the club in 2011.
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Oscar withdrew from the Chelsea squad at the weekend. The Brazilian midfielder was supposed to be on the bench for Guus Hiddink’s side but complained about his stomach and was seen driving away from Stamford Bridge before the game.
Oscar has made 190 appearances for Chelsea since he joined the club in 2012 but the 24-year-old has had to settle for playing the entire 90 minutes in just 10 of his 37 appearances all season.
Juventus, Conte’s former side, have been linked with a move for Oscar in the past, as have PSG. How convenient. Perhaps Pastore could be brought in as Oscar’s replacement or, maybe, a deal could even be done to see the two swap clubs.by
