Report: Details of Mourinho’s Manchester United contract ‘leaked’

Manchester United were planning to keep the details of Jose Mourinho’s alleged contract with them secret until the end of the season but, according to reports, their hand has been forced after the contract leaked in Portugal.

The Red Devils are currently attempting to secure Champions League football for next season and are hoping to win the FA Cup, with this in mind, the club wanted to keep Mourinho’s appointment as quiet as possible. However, according to the media, his new contract has leaked and United are therefore likely to announce the deal in the next two weeks.

The former Chelsea boss is thought to be signing on for £6m-per-season at United for four years, the same as Louis van Gaal and £4m less than he was getting at Stamford Bridge. However, Jose is said to not mind, considering he’ll be taking over at the biggest club in the world and will have a transfer budget of £300m to spend.
