Louis van Gaal has given Manchester United fans reason to believe that the injury picked up by Matteo Darmian against Norwich is not serious.
The Italian was stretchered off after tangling with a Canary on Saturday and the initial signs did not look good for Darmian.
But speaking after the game, van Gaal revealed that it was just a kick – an injury that should hopefully heal quickly and not require months on the sidelines that would have came with ligament damage.
“We have to wait and see,” said van Gaal when he was asked to provide an update on Darmian.
“Darmian has a kick on the ankle so we will have to see the reaction tomorrow (Sunday).
“It is too early to say. Now he is walking in a brace but, tomorrow, it can be good again because a kick is a kick.”
