Injury updates: Can back for Liverpool, Henderson will be available for England

Liverpool have received something of an injury boost ahead of a crucial Europa League clash against Villarreal.

Jürgen Klopp’s men are a goal down heading into Thursday’s second leg at Anfield and have had to make do without Emre Can in their last three Premier League games as well as that Europa League semi-final first leg defeat last week.

There is positive news, though, and Reds fans might not have to watch James Milner and Lucas in the middle of the park against Marcellino’s side.

It’s a big boost, especially if the tie goes to extra-time.

Captain Jordan Henderson still won’t be back and it’s doubtful he’ll return for Klopp before the season ends. However, the Liverpool head coach has suggested England fans and Roy Hodgson can breathe a little easier.

Euro 2016 is just over a month away and England are already banking on the unreliable fitness of Jack Wilshere. With Fabian Delph out of favour and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also still out of action, Hodgson will be desperate to include Henderson in his squad heading to France at the end of the campaign.

Unfortunately for Klopp, that will be a little too late.
