Can on-fire PSG beat Real Madrid at the Bernabéu?

On Wednesday, Real Madrid host Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League clash.

The two European giants go head-to-head on Wednesday night in what promises to be an electrifying match. Both sides have a selection of the world’s best footballers, including Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo, and both love to score goals.

The match takes place at the Bernabéu Stadium, where Real Madrid have lost four times this term.

Los Blancos have struggled with form this season. They’re currently in fourth in the La Liga table, so even though they’re playing in front of a home crowd, PSG will be hopeful that they can at least nab an away goal.

As it stands, the Real vs PSG betting odds show that the Spanish side are slight favourites to win but, with PSG currently on a 21-game unbeaten run, the match looks set to be pretty even.

Both have big name players who can cause damage to the opposition and make a difference. For Real it’s Ronaldo and for the Ligue 1 side it’s Neymar, who joined them from Barcelona for a world record fee of £200m in the summer.

“To play against Neymar, there is no magic formula,” Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal said ahead of the match, reports AS.

“You just hope he doesn’t have his day. I hope he doesn’t have his day on Wednesday.”

As far injuries as concerned, Real only have Jesus Vallejo and Dani Ceballos sidelined, so will be able to field a full-strength team. PSG only have Ben Arfa out of action.
If Real win the Champions League this season, it’ll be their 13th. Whereas the French side are yet to hold it. Therefore, they have everything to play for.
Zinedine Zidane’s men still have a long way to go before they can even think about lifting the trophy. For the moment, they need to beat PSG over two legs. Will it be too much of an ask this time?
