Daily Cannon sources inform us Reiss Nelson has a minor knee injury, forcing him to miss tonight’s clash between Arsenal and Molde FK.

He won’t be out for long, and the problem is described as “nothing too serious”, but it’s still enough to miss the Europa League match tonight.

It’s an unfortunately-timed setback for the winger, after making such a positive impression on Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal fans last Thursday against Dundalk. Unfortunately, he picked up the knee problem ahead of the next group game this evening.

The one positive is that we have the international break coming up, which will give Nelson a little more time to recover before the next set of Arsenal fixtures. We don’t have an exact timeframe for the setback just yet.

Nelson picked up a hamstring problem before the last international break in October, so it’s certainly frustrating for him to have these little niggling problems as he tries to build momentum. We wish him all the best with his recovery.

In another piece of exclusive information, Khayon Edwards will travel with the Arsenal u23s to face Blackburn Rovers on Friday. It’s his first call-up to the u23 team, after featuring with the u18s in the early months of the season.

17-year-old forward Edwards has four goals and two assists so far this campaign, and he’s likely replacing Folarin Balogun in the u23 side – due to the latter’s potential involvement with the first team squad tonight.
